An opportunity to help research diabetes risk in children

In the clubhouse on Sunday 28th April, your child will have the opportunity to take part the ELSA study for the screening of children, aged 3-13 years to find out their risk of getting type 1 diabetes. This involves a simple finger stick blood test and will be conducted by Solent NHS Trust Research Nurses.

Children at high risk can be monitored and could enter research studies aiming to delay the start of type 1 diabetes. Every family who takes part in the ELSA study is helping us to understand more about type 1 diabetes. Find out more via www.elsadiabetes.nhs.uk

If you would like your child to take part, please fill in the consent form on www.elsadiabetes.nhs.uk and when asked where you heard about the study on page 5 of the consent form , please select Eastleigh Rugby Club from the drop down menu. You will be able to fill in the consent form online during the session on the 28th April.
