Welcome to another exciting year of Junior Rugby at Eastleigh RFC. As you may be aware there have been a number of changes over the summer, with new faces in many of the club roles. At this moment of change, I would like to pay tribute to Geordie, Caroline and others who have stepped down from their roles, thank them for their service and extend a welcome to all who have been appointed.
I am fortunate to be part of a large and highly competent team that form the Junior Club executive and committee – we have a big year ahead with much work to do. This will kick-off with our first committee meeting next week.
Ahead of that on Sunday, our Vice Chair (Jason), Secretary (Emma) and I (Paul – Chair) will be coming around the park during training and will be in the clubhouse afterwards. We endeavour to meet as many members as possible so introductions can be made, and names put to faces. Please feel free to raise any concerns or ideas that you would like us to consider. We also want to give you a direct line to share your teams successes, recognise great coaching practise or raise any concerns – just email email@example.com
On the subject of success, one of our goals is to ramp up our outward communication about our activities – we are in a World Cup year and doing this is vital to the recruitment of new players. We are looking to share our good news stories, both individual and team successes, please let us know if there is story to be told and we will get onto it.
Jason would like to echo my comments above thanking Georgie and Caroline and has committed to being just as hard working and dedicated. He is looking forward to building stronger relations with everyone and encourages all feedback and ideas. He is also working hard on building the new Girls teams, busy putting into place a new coaching setup for this exciting new development.
Emma has continued her work from last year, and in addition to supporting Jason and I with our orientation to the club systems is attending the Hampshire Club Development conference this weekend along with others from ERFC. She will also be helping to organise the walking Rugby at the club on Saturday afternoon and a Guard of Honour for our Second XV who play their first home game this weekend at 2.30pm. Following that lot, her work is not done as she will be supporting some of our managers with the new RFU registration processes.
